Long ago, in a great palace filled with warriors and grand halls, lived a young prince named Prahlada. Though his father, Hiranyakashipu, was a powerful and proud king, Prahlada’s heart was gentle and full of love for Lord Vishnu.
Even as a small boy, Prahlada loved to chant the Lord’s names and share stories of kindness and devotion. While his teachers tried to fill his mind with lessons of politics and power, Prahlada’s heart only longed for the Lord. He was not interested in fighting or ruling with pride; he cared most about loving God and being a true friend to all.
One day, during a break from their studies, Prahlada’s friends gathered around him in the royal garden. The air was fresh, birds were singing, and the golden sun shone through the trees. His friends were curious about why Prahlada always looked so peaceful and happy.
With a warm smile, Prahlada spoke softly to his friends:
“My dear friends, this life is precious, and our childhood is the best time to learn about what really matters. Do not wait until you are older to remember God. Start now, when your hearts are pure and your minds are clear.
You may think that real happiness comes from having toys, riches, or winning games, but those joys do not last forever. True happiness lives in the heart that remembers the Lord, serves others, and speaks kindly to everyone.
Every day, try to chant the holy names of the Lord, help those in need, and be honest in all you do. Don’t be afraid if others do not understand you. Stay humble, forgive, and show love even to those who are unkind.
Our time in this world is short, so let’s make every moment count by being good, helping our parents, respecting teachers, and seeing God’s presence in every living being. The Lord is everywhere, in the sky, in the earth, and in our hearts.
If you ever feel sad, lonely, or afraid, remember that Lord Vishnu is always with you, protecting you with love. Just think of Him, and your heart will become light as a feather.
When you grow up, you may have many duties and worries. But if you build a strong foundation of love and faith now, you will always be peaceful and brave, no matter what happens.”
Prahlada’s friends listened with wide eyes and open hearts. Some of them even started to quietly chant the Lord’s names, and others promised to be kinder and more helpful at home. Prahlada’s gentle words planted seeds of faith and love in his friends’ hearts that would last a lifetime.
Moral for Young Vaishnavs:
Never wait to begin loving and serving God. The best time to build good habits, kindness, and devotion is right now. Even one small child’s loving heart can inspire others to goodness and faith.
