Now about Shri Acharyaji Mahaprabhu’s sevak, Devakpur Kshatri, who lived in Kada, the sentiment of his story is described here –
Bhav Prakash (Revealing the Sentiment): Devakpur and Devakpur’s wife are both sakhis of Shri Yashodaji. In the Divine Play, Devakpur’s name is Praveena, and Devakpur’s wife’s name in the Divine Play is Rasleena.
Prasang 1 – Devakpur and His Wife’s Seva of Shri Lalittribhangiji
On the head of Devakpur, Shri Acharyaji placed the seva of Shri Lalittribhangiji. Then Devakpur, along with his wife, performed seva of Shri Lalittribhangiji for many days. Afterwards, Devakpur’s body departed. Then Devakpur’s wife continued to perform seva for many days.
Some days later, the body of Devakpur’s wife also departed. Then her relatives performed her cremation. After that, when they returned home and opened the temple doors, their sons saw that all the seva materials were just as they had been placed, but Shri Thakurji was not there. The seat was empty. Shri Thakurji had disappeared. No one could understand where. Thus he disappeared. Devakpur had four sons. But Shri Thakurji did not have seva done by them.
Bhav Prakash (Revealing the Sentiment): Although they had received names from Shri Gopinathji, the elder brother of Shri Gusainji, yet they were attached to worldly and Vedic affairs. Therefore, Shri Thakurji did not allow seva to be performed by them. And those whom Shri Gopinathji gave names became inclined to the path of maryada (the path of discipline and rules). Shri Baldevji is the form of maryada. And Shri Lalittribhangiji is Shri Acharyaji’s seviya Pushti Purushottam. How could such a connection be established?
And how could seva of Shri Thakurji be given to Vaishnavs in the presence of the four sons? Therefore, Shri Thakurji disappeared. Later, in Sinhanand, there was a Brahmani sevak of Shri Gusainji. In her home, Shri Thakurji manifested. Shri Thakurji himself told Brahmani all the details. Then, through hidden ways, he accepted seva for many days. This is written in the Bhav Prakash of Shri Gusainji’s varta, how he entered into Shri Gusainji’s lineage.
Thus, Devakpur and Devakpur’s wife were great devotees of God. Therefore, only this much of their varta is told.
Bhav Prakash (Revealing the Sentiment): This varta shows the principle that without being a divine soul, one cannot have love for Shri Thakurji. Nor does Shri Thakurji accept seva from them.
