252 Vaishnav Varta 47 - One Kshatrani of Gujarat

Now, the Bhav of the account of a Kshatrani, a sevaki of Shri Gusainji who lived in Gujarat, is spoken of.

Bhav Prakash (Revealing the Sentiment): She was a rajasic devotee. In divine play, her name is “Sukhda.” She manifested from Syama; therefore, she is of the nature of Bhav.

Prasang 1 – Receiving the Name and Attaining Grace through Service

Once, Shri Gusainji himself had come to Gujarat. He had come for the darshan of Dwarkaji Shri Ranchhodji. On the way through Gujarat, Shri Gusainji halted at a place. There, Shri Gusainji performed the service of Shri Thakurji, prepared the meal, offered bhog to Shri Thakurji, completed the bhog at the proper time, and then sat after taking his own meal.

At that time, a Kshatrani came and humbly requested Shri Gusainji, saying, “Maharajadhiraj! Please be merciful and speak the name to me.” Then Shri Gusainji said to that Kshatrani, “Go and bathe, then come.” That Kshatrani bathed and returned. But she was very bold and stubborn by nature. She came and stood there. Then Shri Gusainji came and sat to speak the name. He spoke the name, but that Kshatrani neither repeated the name nor responded—she only kept looking.

Then Shri Gusainji, becoming irritated with her, said, “Hey woman! Why do you not listen? You chatter with your mouth about other matters, and now you are not speaking at all. You are neither speaking nor listening to anything.” Then that Kshatrani humbly requested Shri Gusainji, saying, “Maharajadhiraj! Balihari Javu. I have not remained silent for any other reason.” Hearing these words of the Kshatrani, Shri Gusainji became very pleased with her.

Bhav Prakash (Revealing the Sentiment): Why? Because she accepted even the anger of Shri Gusainji as a virtue.

After that, Shri Gusainji spoke the name to her and, on the next day, performed the nivedan. Then that Kshatrani requested Shri Gusainji, saying, “Maharajadhiraj! Please grant me the service of Shri Thakurji.” Then Shri Gusainji granted her the service of Shri Thakurji and taught her all the methods of service. After that, the lady began serving Shri Thakurji very properly and attentively. Later, that lady offered many gifts to Shri Gusainji and sent offerings to Shri Govardhan Nathji. After that, Shri Gusainji took leave of that lady and went for the darshan of Dwarkaji Shri Ranchhodji. Having the darshan of Shri Ranchhodji, he stayed there for several days. Then Shri Gusainji departed from there and came to Shri Gokul.

After that, the lady continued to serve Shri Thakurji very well. Shri Thakurji began to reveal intimacy and affection to that lady. He would converse with her and would ask her directly for whatever he desired. Such grace Shri Thakurji showed to that Kshatrani. Thus, that Kshatrani was such a graced Bhagavadiya of Shri Gusainji, upon whom Shri Gusainji always remained pleased. Therefore, there is no limit to her account—how far can it be spoken?
