Long ago, in the holy city of Mathura, there lived a little boy named Achyutadas Sanodiya. He was born into a loving Brahmin family, and his heart was full of love for Shri Krishna. When he turned nine, something very special happened. Achyutadas got to go with his parents to walk around the sacred Govardhan Hill, which is dearly loved by Shri Krishna Himself.
As they walked along the path, the beauty of Govardhan Hill touched Achyutadas’s heart. He saw the trees, the rocks, and the soft paths where Shri Krishna once walked with His friends and cows. Every step made Achyutadas feel closer to Shri Krishna. At the end of the walk, he turned to his parents and said, “I don’t want to leave this place. I feel so peaceful here.”
His parents were surprised but gently said, “You must come home with us.”
Achyutadas replied with a smile, “Let me stay a little longer. I promise I’ll come back after I walk around Govardhan twenty times.”
His parents agreed, and Achyutadas went to live with some kind relatives in a nearby town called Anyor. Each day, he walked around the hill with joy, thinking of Shri Krishna. The trees, the stones, and the breeze all felt alive with the Lord’s love.
One day, a great saint named Shri Mahaprabhuji came to Govardhan. He was filled with divine light and kindness. When Achyutadas saw him, he felt something very special in his heart. Without waiting, he went to Shri Mahaprabhuji and asked to be his student.
Shri Mahaprabhuji saw the sweetness in the boy and lovingly accepted him. Later, Shri Mahaprabhuji asked Achyutadas to begin serving Shri Nathji, a beautiful form of Shri Krishna.
Achyutadas wanted something very deep. He went to Shri Mahaprabhuji and said, “Please bless me so that I can feel Shri Krishna’s presence in my heart, and worship Him in my thoughts every day.”
Shri Mahaprabhuji was very pleased. He gave Achyutadas some water that had touched his holy feet. Achyutadas drank some and gently placed the rest on his chest and eyes.
Right away, something amazing happened. His eyes were opened to divine visions. He could now see the sweet pastimes of Shri Krishna — the way He laughed, played, and danced in joy with His friends. His heart was full of bliss.
Seeing this, Shri Mahaprabhuji taught him a sacred message, called the Siddhanta Muktavali. He explained that worshiping Shri Krishna with love in the mind is the most special kind of worship. When we use our body, mind, and all that we have to serve Shri Krishna, our pain from the world slowly melts away.
He also said that Shri Krishna is the Supreme Lord. Some people say the world is not real, others say it has always existed, and some say different things. But the truth is, everything comes from the Lord. Just like the river Ganga has a form of water and also a divine form as a goddess, the world and the Lord are connected in a special way.
Shri Mahaprabhuji explained that Shri Krishna gives true happiness to the soul. When we really understand this, we start to see the Lord everywhere, just like a person who sees the Ganga not just as water but also as the sacred goddess.
He said that people who love Shri Krishna feel sad when they cannot see Him. And those who worship Him only for worldly reasons often face troubles. But those who stay steady in their love, even during hard times, receive Shri Krishna’s blessings and peace.
Shri Mahaprabhuji shared that while knowledge is good, devotion is even better. If someone lives near the Ganga but doesn’t worship with love, it’s a waste. Real worship comes from the heart.
Achyutadas listened carefully. From then on, he lived in a small cave near the lovely Govinda lake. Day and night, he thought of Shri Krishna. His eyes would often fill with tears—not of sadness, but of deep love.
Even after Shri Mahaprabhuji left this world, his divine son, Shri Gusainji, would visit Achyutadas every day after finishing the mid-day prayers of Shri Nathji. Shri Gusainji saw the light of Shri Mahaprabhuji shining in Achyutadas’s eyes.
Sometimes, without anyone telling him, Achyutadas would describe exactly what had been offered to Shri Nathji in the temple that day—what dishes were made, how they were prepared, and even whether Shri Nathji enjoyed them or not.
Achyutadas lived a quiet life, full of devotion. He stayed close to Govardhan Hill, always thinking of Shri Krishna, and teaching us all how sweet and deep love for the Lord can be.
Though we don’t know every detail of his life, what we do know is this: Achyutadas’s heart was always with Shri Krishna, and that made his life truly special. With faith and love that’s pure and true, Shri Krishna always lives in you.
