The Story of Jambudvipa and the Universe

Once upon a time, the wise sage Shukadeva Goswami described to King Parikshit the wonderful secrets of the universe. He told him about Jambudvipa, the central land in the universe, and all the magical worlds that exist as part of the Lord’s divine creation.

Jambudvipa – The Heart of the Universe

In the center of the universe, like a shining jewel, lies Jambudvipa—a vast, round land surrounded by beautiful oceans. Jambudvipa is shaped like a lotus with eight large petals. Each petal is a special region where people live, pray, and celebrate life. The very center of Jambudvipa is Mount Meru, the golden mountain that glows with the brightness of a thousand suns.

Mount Meru – The World’s Pillar

Mount Meru stands tall and proud, reaching from the earth up to the heavens. The sun, moon, and all the stars circle around this great mountain, lighting up the world. On the slopes of Meru, wonderful gardens bloom, and magical rivers flow with sweet water.

At the top of Mount Meru, gods and sages live in palaces made of gold and jewels. Every day, the air is filled with music, and flowers rain from the sky. It is a place of happiness and peace, watched over by Lord Brahma and blessed by Lord Vishnu.

The Seven Continents and Oceans

Around Jambudvipa are six more giant islands, each one shaped like a circle. Each island is surrounded by a different ocean—one of salt water, one of sugarcane juice, one of wine, one of ghee, one of milk, one of yogurt, and one of pure sweet water! These oceans sparkle under the sun, and on each island live people, animals, and trees more wonderful than anywhere else.

Life in Jambudvipa

The people of Jambudvipa are kind, honest, and always remember God. They build beautiful temples and sing prayers of love. Great kings rule wisely, protecting the land and helping everyone live in peace. There are magical rivers, giant trees, and fruits as sweet as nectar.

All around, birds sing, animals play, and children run joyfully. Every day is filled with laughter, music, and prayer.

The Universe – A Divine Creation

The universe is not just one world but a collection of many worlds, all created by the Lord’s wish. Each world has its own sun, moon, and stars, and all of them are woven together by the gentle love of the Lord. All beings—humans, animals, gods, and even tiny ants—live because of the Lord’s kindness.

The Lord’s Home – Above All

At the highest point in the universe is the Lord’s own abode—Vaikuntha, the land of endless happiness. Here, the Lord sits on a golden throne, smiling with love for everyone, and His pure devotees sing His glories.

The world is full of beauty and wonder, made by the loving hands of the Lord. No matter where we live, we are all part of His creation. When we care for the world, respect all living beings, and remember God with love, we help make the universe shine even brighter.
