Long ago in the town of Mahavan, there lived a kind-hearted boy named Yadavendradasji. He was the son of a humble potter and grew up helping his father make pots from clay. He had a simple life, but his heart was full of love for God.
One day, a wise and gentle Vaishnav named Narayanadasji Brahmachari invited Yadavendradasji to his home. He offered him some sacred food called prasada, which had been offered to Shri Krishna. As soon as Yadavendradasji ate the prasada, something changed deep inside him. His heart became full of peace and love, and he felt very close to Shri Krishna. A few days later, he met Shri Mahaprabhuji and became His disciple. From that day on, Yadavendradasji dedicated his whole life to serving Shri Mahaprabhuji with joy and care.
Whenever Shri Mahaprabhuji and Shri Gusainji went on pilgrimages, Yadavendradasji would carry their tents and food on his back. He never complained. He helped set up camps, took care of the other devotees, and even stayed up all night to guard the camp so everyone could sleep peacefully. His heart was always filled with love and service.
One spring evening in Gokul, Shri Gusainji said, "Tonight is a very good time to start building a temple." After saying this, Shri Gusainji went to rest.
But Yadavendradasji did not sleep. He picked up a shovel and quietly began digging the ground to lay the temple's foundation. He worked all through the night without stopping. By morning, there was a big pile of earth.
When Shri Gusainji woke up and saw the dug-out land, he asked what had happened. A Vaishnav told him that Yadavendradasji had spent the whole night digging. Shri Gusainji asked Yadavendradasji why he had done so much work.
Yadavendradasji gently said, “You mentioned it was a good time to start, so I began right away.”
It took the workers one whole month to finish what Yadavendradasji had done in a single night! Soon, a beautiful temple was built there, and Shri Navanita Priyaji, the child form of Shri Krishna, came to live in that temple.
Another time, Yadavendradasji dug a well near Shri Nathji’s temple. He used the mud from the well to make pots. But when he tasted the water, it was full of undesirable elements and tasted bad. Yadavendradasji wanted only the best for Shri Nathji, so he prayed and performed special prayers near the holy river Ganga.
He prayed with so much love and honesty that the river goddess, Gangaji, became pleased with him. She blessed the well and turned its water into sweet, tasty water—perfect for Shri Nathji’s service.
Yadavendradasji always remembered that whatever is offered to Shri Krishna should be pure and full of love. He gave his heart and strength to serving with joy, and Shri Mahaprabhuji’s grace was always with him.
His story reminds us that even simple acts, when done with love, become very special in the eyes of God.
