The Prayers of Brahma to Lord Vishnu

Once Upon a Time…

In the very beginning of the universe, there was nothing but an endless, peaceful ocean. Floating upon this ocean, on a giant, soft serpent named Ananta, was Lord Vishnu, shining like a thousand suns, full of love and peace. From His navel grew a beautiful golden lotus, and from this lotus, Lord Brahma appeared—the very first being and the creator of all worlds.

Brahma looked around, seeing only darkness and the infinite ocean. He felt alone and a little confused. “How can I begin the work of creation?” he wondered. Brahma tried to meditate and search within himself for answers, but nothing appeared. The world was quiet, and he was all alone on his lotus.

The Search for the Lord

Brahma decided to follow the stem of the lotus down into the water, hoping to find its source. He traveled a long, long way, but still, he could not find the end or see anyone there. Tired and humble, Brahma returned to the lotus and sat in deep meditation, folding his hands and closing his eyes. With all his heart, he prayed to the Supreme Lord for guidance.

Brahma chanted softly, “O Lord, please show me Your form. Teach me how to serve You and begin this creation. Without Your blessing, I am powerless.”

Lord Vishnu Reveals Himself

Hearing Brahma’s sincere prayers, Lord Vishnu appeared before him, glowing with beauty and kindness. Vishnu’s form was deep blue, like the calm ocean, with four arms holding a conch, discus, mace, and lotus. His smile was gentle, and His presence filled Brahma with courage and joy.

Brahma folded his hands and offered heartfelt prayers:

“O Lord Vishnu, You are the source of everything. From You comes this universe, all the gods, all living beings, and even time itself. You are beyond birth and death, full of mercy and wisdom. Please bless me with the power to create and let me remember that all this is only by Your grace.”

Lord Vishnu listened lovingly and replied, “Dear Brahma, I am pleased with your devotion and humility. Everything happens through My will. Meditate on Me, remember Me always, and your mind will become pure and wise. I will guide you in all that you do.”

With these blessings, Lord Vishnu vanished, but Brahma’s heart was now filled with light and inspiration.

Brahma Begins Creation

Blessed by Lord Vishnu, Brahma opened his eyes. Suddenly, knowledge blossomed in his mind. He began to create the worlds—the sky, the earth, the sun and stars, and all the living beings. He sang the Lord’s glories as he worked, always remembering that it was Lord Vishnu’s power behind all creation.

Brahma’s prayers remind us that even the wisest and most powerful need God’s grace. By praying with humility and love, even the biggest problems become simple, and the Lord’s guidance fills our lives.

Moral of the Story

Dear children, the story of Brahma’s prayers teaches us that whenever we feel lost or afraid, we can pray to God with a pure heart. With patience, devotion, and faith, the Lord will show us the way. Even the smallest prayer, spoken with love, brings us close to the divine.
