The Story of Universal Destruction

At the end of each great cosmic cycle, Lord Shiva, the gentle transformer, plays a special role. With his mighty dance, called the “Tandava,” he signals to the universe that it is time to rest and renew.

The oceans rise, stars fade, and all beings return to the Lord’s heart for a peaceful slumber. This is not a time of fear, but of deep rest, just like sleeping after a long, happy day. No soul is ever lost—everyone is lovingly protected, waiting for the new dawn.

The Lord’s Protection

Lord Vishnu, lying on Ananta, the cosmic serpent, watches over everything, even during pralaya. He holds all souls gently, keeping them safe until the time is right for a new creation to begin.

Just as you trust your parents to watch over you as you sleep, all souls trust the Lord to care for them during this cosmic rest.

The Never-Ending Story

Creation and destruction are not endings, but beautiful changes in the never-ending story of the universe. After every pralaya, the worlds blossom again, life returns, and new stories are born. Sages say that understanding these cycles helps us see that nothing truly ends; everything is transformed and begins anew.
