Dashavatara Stories

The term "Dashavatar" (often spelled Dashavatara) comes from Sanskrit, where "Dasha" means ten and "avatar" means incarnation. In Hinduism, it refers specifically to the ten incarnations of Shri Hari Vishnu, who descends to Earth whenever dharma (righteousness) declines and adharma (unrighteousness) rises.
